If you are visiting Amman and want to visit the Hejaz Railway,
or even take a train ride to Damascus, ask any taxi driver to
take you to Mahattah. (Make sure you are going to Mahattah proper
and not the street called Mahhatah street that starts at the
train station and goes into town.) The name Mahattah means "station."
At the station you can see some of the old locomotives and cars,
and make arrangements to travel to Damascus.
